The Montreal Canadiens lost the services of forward Josh Anderson on Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Anderson was ruled out by the team early in the third period with an undisclosed injury.
It's unclear what caused Anderson to leave the game, as he did not come out of the dressing room for the start of the third.
Anderson played 9:36 over the first two periods and scored the Canadiens' fifth goal of the game off a bad turnover from Hurricanes forward Nikolaj Ehlers.
With Montreal trailing 4-2, Anderson's goal capped three unanswered second-period goals for the Canadiens to take a 5-4 lead into the third.
Anderson, 31, has nine goals and four assists over 40 games for the Canadiens this season.
